A memorial visitation celebrating the life of David Lynn Ahee, 78, of Calhoun, Louisiana will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 3, 2025, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe. Interment will be held at Unionville Cemetery in Ottumwa, Iowa.
Mr. Ahee was born on December 4, 1946, in Marshalltown, Iowa and passed away on December 1, 2025, in Monroe, Louisiana.
David and Lora were married on June 22, 1969. In 1988, the family moved to West Monroe, Louisiana where David and Lora both worked at Centurytel for more than twenty years before retiring. In 2010, David and Lora moved to Alexandria, Virginia, a suburb of Washington D. C. and he was there to work for the national military order of the Purple Heart. He was very active in that organization as he was a purple heart recipient himself. David loved living there for a too short three years.
David was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather who will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served during the Vietnam War. David was a graduate of Drake University upon graduating he went to work to provide for his family. For many years, he was a financial advisor at Military Order of the Purple Heart. David was an avid sports fan who loved watching NASCAR but most of all he loved golf. He was a true American patriot who spent hours doing work for the VA and as many military and veteran causes as he could. He had the heart of a servant and loved helping those in need.
David loved to travel and visited many areas or the United States including New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego California, Seattle, Washington, Atlantic City, New Jersey, Miami and Key West Florida and many others including the Grand Canyon, South Carolina and Las Vegas, Nevada. He was active in the Purple Heart Organization along with wife, Lora. Mr. Ahee loved spending time with his wife of fifty years and his grandchildren, playing golf, and sitting by their pool.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lora Ahee; son, Jamie; parents, Thelma and Donald Ahee; and brothers, Mike Ahee and Rick Ahee.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Tracey Ahee, Nicole Ahee and fiancé, Thomas McQuillin, and Anna Lisa Ahee; grandchildren, Taylor, Josh, Harlie, Joseph, Emma, Savannah, Cheyenne; and two sisters, Janet Ahee Morris and Donna Ahee; brother-in-law, Allen Herman; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He had a special bond with his cousin, Dixie and many others. David was incredibly proud of his family and lived a very selfless life always thinking of others.
Memorials in David’s honor can be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars American Legion in Unionville, Iowa, the Wounded Warrior Project, or any other veterans or military organization.
