Funeral services celebrating the life of David Powell Tedder, 88, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:30 P.M. Monday, April 6, 2026, graveside in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Mario Mouser officiating, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe, LA

Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Monday at Mulhearn’s.

Mr. Tedder died on April 2, 2026, at Cherry Ridge Skilled Nursing Facility after a brief illness.

David worked and retired from State Farm Insurance with 38 years of service.  He served in the Tennessee National Guard for seven years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dave and Nola Tedder; Sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Leonand Lewis; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Billie McDowell.

David is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara McDowell Tedder; sons and daughters, Jeff and Julie Tedder, Jamie and Mark Portacci, Aimee Hart, and Joel and Lesley Tedder; 8 grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren, and special great grandchild, Miles Owens

Pallbearers will be Heath Kimball, Jacob Holloway, John David Owens, Boo Ray Franklin, Jackson Tedder, and John Tucker.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ron Bush (adopted son), Mark Portacci (special son-in-law).

Memorials may be made to Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
