A graveside service for Mr. David Ray Wood, 75, of Chatham, LA, will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Monday, March 30, 2026, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, with Rev. Lindle Stewart officiating, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd., Monroe. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until 2:45 P.M. at the funeral home in Monroe.

Mr. Wood was born March 9, 1951, in Monroe, LA, and passed away March 27, 2026. He was a retired truck driver with ABF. He and his wife also owned and operated Mann’s Grocery for many years. Mr. Wood was a member of New Light Baptist Church.

Mr. Wood was a dedicated and loving husband, father and brother. He loved spending time outdoors and living on Caney Lake. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, who loved watching LSU and the Saints on the weekends.

Mr. Wood was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Louise Wood; siblings, Joe Wood and Angie Plag; and granddaughter, Reagan Nicole Wood.

Survivors include his wife, Noel Wood; son, Wesley Wood (Jessica); brothers, Charles Wood (Sharon) and Lester Wood (Delores); his loyal loving companion, Rascal; as well as his many other cousins, nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Matt Wood, Caleb Wood, Jeff Huggins, and Greg Huggins. Mr. Chum Huggins will be an honorary pallbearer.
