It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved, Debra Kay Barrett, a cherished daughter, sister, and friend. Her impact on the lives of those close to her was immeasurable and her memory will be forever etched in our hearts.
Debra was born December 2, 1967, in Oak Grove, Louisiana and passed away on July 22, 2024, in Monroe, Louisiana, after a brief battle with cancer surrounded by family and loved ones. Debra was strong in her faith, a huge advocate for the children and animals in her life. She was huge believer in giving to and helping others. Though she was a very private person, in her time at both Cracker Barrell and Home2Suites, she built friendships that became family.
Debra is survived by her mother, Lorrie Barnes, and her two siblings, Adam Blair, and Cheri Duhon. She will be laid to rest with her beloved dog, Mona. A private memorial service will be held as the family invites you to please celebrate Debra’s memory in your own way as she will be with us all in spirit and we thank you for your understanding during this difficult time. Our heartfelt thanks to you for all the prayers and your well wishes, we truly appreciate them. We ask that in lieu of flowers you donate, in her name, to the Ouachita Parish Animal Shelter or the American Cancer Society.
