Debra Kaye was born on November 29, 1959, in Monroe, Louisiana and passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on January 12, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and unwavering devotion. She was married to her beloved husband for 43 beautiful years, a partnership marked by deep commitment, laughter, and steadfast support. Together they raised two wonderful daughters who were the joy of her life, and she cherished the blessing of two granddaughters who brought her endless pride and delight.

Kaye built a long and successful career as an accountant in the banking industry, where her sharp mind and strong work ethic earned the respect of colleagues and clients alike. Known for her quick wit and remarkable intelligence, she brought both warmth and wisdom into every room she entered, often lightening even the busiest days with her humor and insight.

A faithful and active member of Fair Park Baptist Church, Kaye lived her faith with sincerity and grace. She served with a joyful heart, always eager to encourage others and share the love of Christ through her words and actions. Her life was a testament to her deep and abiding belief in Jesus, whom she loved above all else.

She is preceded in death by her father, Reuben Herman Hollis; mother, Emma Irene Simpson Hollis Albritton; stepfather, John Charles “JC” Albritton; sister, Carolyn Phillps; brothers, Johnny Hollis and Gerald Hollis; and nephew, Keith Alan Hollis.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her beloved husband of forty-three years, Morgan Cannon; daughters, Christina Franks (Seth) and Annabeth Nugent (Jonathan); granddaughters, Lexi Corum (Travis) and Emma Franks; brothers, Robert Hollis, Randy Hollis, and Roger Hollis; sister, Penny Stark; life-long friend and caregiver, Mary Hill; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, colleagues, and friends.

Above everything, Kaye treasured her family. She poured her heart into every moment spent with them celebrating milestones, offering guidance, and creating memories that will be held close forever. Her presence was a source of comfort, strength, and warmth, and her absence will be felt deeply by all who knew and loved her. Her loved ones take comfort in knowing she is now at peace, held safely in the arms of her Savior.
