Dewey Lamar “Tommy” Thompson III, age 75, of Monroe, Louisiana, passed away on June 11, 2025. Born on October 25, 1949, in Helena, Arkansas, Tommy was a dedicated Maintenance Mechanic for Graphic Packaging for 45 years. He valued his work and took pride in the contributions he made throughout his career.
Tommy leaves behind his loving wife, Merry Millwee Thompson, and their two sons, Cory Thompson and his wife Katie, and Kyle Thompson and his wife Lori. He was also the proud grandfather of three grandchildren: George Thompson, Sibley Thompson, and Madelyn Wood. As well as his sister-in-law, Dena Novak; and nieces, Brianna Novak and Kelsey Novak.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dewey Lamar Thompson, Jr., his mother, Mary Ann Pinkston Roberson, and his stepfather, E.L. Roberson.
Tommy’s memory will be cherished by his family and friends as they reflect on the moments they shared together. He was a passionate Arkansas fan, a skilled handyman, a loyal attendee at his grandchildren’s sporting events, and a grill master who proudly hosted steak and lobster dinner for family birthday celebrations.
A private family graveside service will be held at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
