A Memorial visitation celebrating the life of Diane Jordan Foust, 74, of Downsville, Louisiana will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., September 1st, 2026, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe. Inurnment will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, September 5th, 2026, at McCormick Cemetery, 1788 Strozier Road West Monroe, Louisiana. 

Diane Maza Jordan Foust loved her family, her friends and her work family. She was born September 24, 1951 in Monroe, Louisiana and passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026 in Monroe, Louisiana after courageously and stubbornly fighting Parkinson’s Disease for almost 20 years and dementia for the past few years. She spent the majority of her life in West Monroe, Louisiana, having grown up in the Drew community. She was married to Wilford Dalton Jordan, Sr. for 32 years from the time that she was 17 until his death in 2000. Together, they raised six children. She was by his side through countless years of illness. She was later married in 2004 to Bill Foust, who has been by her side through the many trials and tribulations of her years of battling illness.

Diane went by many names: Dinnie, Momma, Memaw, MiMi, DJ but, we know her simply as being our mother-always a caretaker and never wanting to be the one being taken care of. She was an extremely hard worker, to the point of always “doing it herself” because she didn’t want to ask for help and was certain that it would be done the right way if she did it. Her work ethic was unmatched. Daddy used to say that he was pretty sure she preferred to be at work instead of at home. We know that she was a friend and mother figure to many throughout her 25-year career as a store manager with the Walmart stores in West Monroe and Monroe. We are frequently asked from people that have worked with her in the past, “Is your Mother DJ?”.

She loved to read poetry to her two older children when they were young, as she was able to be a stay-at-home mom with them. One of her favorite books was Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. She was a talented writer and if she had not been busy taking care of so many children believe that she would have excelled in that capacity. She loved to sew Barbie doll clothes for her daughters and make stuffed dolls and animals for them as well. She enjoyed baking sweet treats when she wasn’t busy working or taking care of someone.

Diane is survived by her husband Bill Foust; daughter, Joyce Sims (Robert); daughter, Shawn Stokes (Skeeter); daughter, Miranda McMellon (Curt); son, Jay Jordan; daughter, Erin Duff (Nathan); son, Christopher Jordan; grandchildren, Bruce Withers, Alex Johnson, Brandon Danna, Shelby Sims (Raegan), Trey Day, Trevor Day, Madison Day, Trent Day, Peyton Carr; great-grandchildren, Annie and Lucie Sims, Dominic and Christopher Withers, Lillie Danna; stepchildren, Mollea Foust, Ashton Foust, Emileigh Andrae; and three step grandchildren, Chase Foust and step grandson, Breanna Foust and step grandson; sister, Gloria Maza; brother, Bill Maza; numerous nieces and nephews; lifelong friends, Ken and Diane Farmer; and longtime family friend, Terra Polumbo-Lucas.

Diane was preceded in death by her husband, Wilford Dalton Jordan, Sr.; her parents, Bob Lagrown Maza and Lena Mae Sills Maza; her in-laws, James William Jordan and Florene Tanner Jordan; her sister, Mary Ellen Maza Fontenot; and her brothers, Bobby Lee Maza and Aubrey Lagrown Maza.

We would like to thank the nurses and all the staff at The Delta Grande, where Momma has been for the past three years for their love, care and concern. We are all deeply saddened by the death of our Momma, our loved one, our friend but we know that she is no longer in pain or struggling. We also know that she is reunited with our Daddy and all her loved ones.
