Donald Bowen Clark

A memorial service for Mr. Donald Bowen Clark, 87, of Groves, TX and recently Monroe, LA, will be held on June 15, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Groves TX, with Rev. Joe Worley and Rev. Charles Miller officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. until the service at 11:00 A.M.

Mr. Donald Bowen Clark was born June 25, 1935, in Baltimore, MD, and passed away May 16, 2023, in Monroe, LA.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Groves, TX for 80 years where he taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, and served and delivered meals to senior citizens. He was a member of North Monroe Baptist Church from the summer of 2022 until his death.

Mr. Clark was an Eagle Scout in The Boy Scouts of America.

He was a proud member of the United States Air Force.

Mr. Clark worked for the Texas Department of Transportation for 32 years.

Mr. Clark ran track and played football. He played in the state championship for the PNG football team and made All State in Football in 1953. He earned an appointment to the Naval Academy but ended up playing football at LSU. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, playing golf and dominoes. Mr. Clark also donated blood and platelets hundreds of times.

Mr. Clark is preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie Clark; father, Floyd Clark; and brother, Richard ‘Dick’ B. Clark. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Linda Clark; his daughter, Cindy Arredondo and husband Las of Celina, TX; his son, Kenneth Clark and wife Tammy of Monroe, LA; grandchildren, Bethany Montgomery and husband Zachary of Prosper, TX, Kaitlyn Sisk and husband Jeremy of Monroe, LA, Rebekah Arredondo of Dallas, TX, Kendra Clark of Monroe, LA, Nathan Arredondo of Frisco, TX, and Kyra Clark of Monroe, LA; great grandchild, Landry Montgomery; sister, Margie Usey of Little Elm, TX; brother, Jon Clark of Groves, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Azelea Estates and Elara Hospice for their excellent care and love shown to Mr. Clark in his final days.
