A memorial service for Mr. Donald Wayne Sinclair will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 31, 2024, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd., Monroe, Louisiana, with Rev. Ricky Baker officiating.
Donald Wayne Sinclair, 71, of Monroe, Louisiana, passed away August 15, 2024. Donnie was born September 22, 1952, in Alexandria, LA to D.O. and Annie Sinclair. He was a 1970 graduate of Wossman High School where he excelled in football. In his younger years, he grew up working in his father’s shop and in later years became an over-the-road truck driver, where he fulfilled his dream of seeing the United States. He also shared his father’s love of working on vehicles, working at Van-Trow Olds and as body shop manager at Twin City Pontiac.
Donnie’s health was a deciding factor in his retirement of his love of working. He had a lot of fight being such a warrior through all his health issues.
Donnie was a beloved family man and was always ready to lend a shoulder for comfort or offer advice to all his family and friends. He also had a tremendous love for all animals.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Julia Ann Campbell, and brother, David “Buddy” Sinclair, and mother-in-law Jean Wilkinson and father-in-law A.O. Wilkinson.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Wilkinson Sinclair of Monroe, daughter, Angela Gayle Sinclair, of Friendswood, TX, stepson, Michael Monk (Christine) and granddaughter Natalie Monk. He is also survived by his sisters: Shirley Hinton (Tracy) of West Monroe, Brenda Collie, of Baskin, Debbie Hunnicutt (Lane) of Shreveport, and his brother and best friend, Dan Sinclair, of West Monroe; special nephew Brian Anderson of Monroe, and Susan Wilson Hahn, Friendswood, TX – mother of his child. He also is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested donations to: St Jude’s Children’s Hospital,
HonorFlightHouston.org, 501(c) [all non-paid volunteers, who provide support to veterans by escorting them to visit the memorials in Washington DC,] or the charity of your choice.
