Funeral services celebrating the life of Donna Maxine Coon, 80, of West Monroe, Louisiana will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, October 9, 2026, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with Rev. Lance Otwell officiating. Interment will follow after at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.
Donna was born on February 2, 1946, and passed away on October 3, 2026. She was a thoughtful woman with a remarkable gift for listening. Her presence was felt the moment she entered a room without ever saying a word. Donna left her mark on the world in quiet, meaningful ways. She was someone others could trust with their secrets and speak to without fear of judgement. She gave the people she loved room to make their own choices and find their own way, while remaining close enough to be there if they stumbled.
Selfless by nature, Donna was a devoted wife, mother and loyal friend. Her kindness showed through her patience, understanding, encouragement, and steady support. She ha a true green thumb and a special talent for gardening. Donna found joy in the quiet and stillness of reading.
Donna is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lloyd Carnegie Coon; her parents, R.J. and Tean Hicks Phillips; her brother, Richard Jay Phillips; and her son, James Edward Arrant.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sister, Cherry Anne Phillips; her daughters, Dana Parker Flowers and Jennifer Anne Coon; her granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Edwards and husband, Craig; her great grandchildren, Madeline Maxine Payne and Cody Adam Payne.
Donna will be remembered for her gentle guidance, creativity, compassion, and unwavering support. Her family and friends will carry forward the lessons she taught, the beauty she cultivated, and the love she gave so freely.
The visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe.
