Donna Maria Self

Funeral services for Mrs. Donna Maria Self, 75, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday August 7, 2023, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe with Rev. William Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until service time Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Self was born on June 26, 1948, in Garland, TX, and passed away on July 31, 2023, in Monroe.

Donna retired from a long career in banking that included time spent as branch manager at multiple locations as well as time spent within the brokerage investment sector. She was a mentor to many within the banking business. Her tenacity to face many health issues was an inspiration to those who knew her. Her greatest passions in life included her daughter and two grandchildren. She was loved and admired by many.

Survivors include her husband, Raymond Self; daughter, Crystal Scott and husband Stevie; grandson, Mason Ray Scott; granddaughter, Scarlett Scott; sister, Deborah Kay and husband Mike; brother, Bruce Lynn Heddin and wife Gayle; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express special thanks to Ascend Hospice and Ouachita Health and Rehabilitation for their care provided to Mrs. Self.

Pallbearers will be Mason Ray Scott, Stevie Scott, Darwin Miller, Dave Self, Mike Self and Allen Stutts.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
