Funeral Services for Mrs. Doris Smith Stephens, 74, of Monroe, LA, will be 11:00 AM Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Lone Cherry Baptist Church in Mangham with Rev. Doyle Adams officiating. Interment will follow at Lone Cherry Baptist Church Cemetery in Mangham. Arrangements are under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe.
Mrs. Stephens was born December 7, 1948 and passed away on January 1, 2023. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Stephens was a firm believer in her Lord and Savior. She loved going to church. Mrs. Stephens enjoyed watching tv, sleeping, drinking her coffee, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved socializing with family and friends. In her younger days, she enjoyed dancing, listening to music, and fishing.
She is preceded in death by her parents, David and Margaret Smith; husband Fred Stephens Jr., brothers and sisters, David, Johnny, Stanley, Lewis, Pearl, Loretta, Mary and Gladys.
Survivors include her children, Fred Stephens, III and his wife Carolyn and Pam Hancock and her husband Walter; four grandchildren, Hunter Hancock and his wife Chelsea, Brian Stephens, Leanna Hair and her husband Cody, and Jenny Hicks and her husband Josh; seven great-grandchildren, Chance Stephens, Wesley Hair, Sydney Hicks, Colton Stephens, Alyssa Hair, Brookelyn Hicks, and Nathan Hicks; brother, George Smith; three sisters, Brenda Davidson, Helen Smith, and Jeanie Wilson and her husband Donald; as well as a host of niece, nephews and cousins and her fur baby, Gidget.
Pallbearers will be Fred Stephens, III., Brian Stephens, Hunter Hancock, Josh Hicks, Walter Hancock, and Cody Hair.
Memorials may be made to Lone Cherry Baptist Church in Mangham.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mrs. Stephen’s life-long friends, Deborah Bagwell, Mary Duzan and Donna Bucko.
