Funeral services for Dorothy Idell Lawrence, 69, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd., Monroe, LA, with Bro. Ricky Baker officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home.

Dorothy was born on April 4, 1956, in Monroe, LA, to Johnny and Dorothy Sanders. She passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.

Dorothy was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Monroe. She loved family, fishing and gardening. She worked hanging wallpaper and painting. She was known for her compassion and dedication to others.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Dorothy Sanders; and her nephew, Jimmy Joe Poole.

Survivors include her daughters, Angela Lawrence and Hailey Lawrence; son, Kevin Lawrence; her sisters, Brenda Moncrief and Debbie Hammett; nephews, Johnny Ace Cannon and wife Elizabeth, Eddie James and wife Tracie; great nephews, Trevor and Lane, Caleb Poole and Chance Poole; great great niece Ivory Poole; as well as many other extended family members.
