Eddie Lee Wood, Jr.

Funeral service for Mr. Eddie Lee Wood, Jr., 73, of Sterlington, LA, will be held at 2:00PM Monday, April 8, 2024, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe with Rev. Lindle Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00PM until service time Monday at the funeral home. 

Mr. Wood was a member of New Light Baptist Church in Monroe. He was a husband of 41 years, Daddy, PaPaw, and Own Very. Mr. Wood was a pipeline inspector for over 25 years and was a member of the Welders and Pipefitters Union 654. He loved to sit and watch his grandchildren play softball, football and soccer. He also loved to fish, coon hunt and squirrel hunt. Mr. Wood was preceded in death by his father Eddie Wood, Sr.; mother, Betty Wood; and granddaughter, Savannah Reese.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Wood; two sons, Chad Wood and Brad Wood; daughter, Jessica Reese (Trey); brother, Buddy Wood; sister, Debbie Wood; grandchildren, Carley Wood, Cooper Reese, Brooke Wood, Piper Wood, Logan Reese, and Emaleigh Wood; special niece, Hannah Jerkins; and numerous other nieces and nephews.  

Pallbearers will be Chad Coghlan, Mikel Deville, David Wood, Jerry Wood, Lester Wood, and Dewey Wood. Honorary pallbearer will be Richard Oliveaux.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Ascend Hospice Care, Dr. Kurt Olinde, Dr. Charla Poole; and all the River Road neighbors for taking such good care of us through this difficult time.  

Memorials may be made to New Light Baptist Church or to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
