Edward Tadlock "Tad"
Jurgens
October 22, 1941 – April 6, 2026
Mr. Edward Tadlock “Tad” Jurgens, 84, of West Monroe, Louisiana was born on October 22, 1941, in Memphis, Tennessee and passed away on April 6, 2026, in West Monroe, Louisiana.
Edward lived his life with an energy and enthusiasm that made him unforgettable. A proud graduate of the University of Tennessee with a degree in Chemical Engineering, he carried his love for the Vols everywhere he went quite literally. If you ever saw him, he was almost certainly sporting a Vols T‑shirt, jacket, or hat, cheering on his team with unwavering loyalty. Edward was an avid runner who found joy, discipline, and community on the road. He was an active member of several running organizations, always encouraging others and celebrating every finish line, big or small.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Eva and Arthur Jurgens; and brother, Major. Benjiman Jurgens.
Those left to cherish his memory are his stepdaughter, Charlotte Boyd and her husband, Michael; sister-in-law, Nancy Jurgens; niece, Barry Jurgens Murphy and her husband, Christopher; nephew, Benjamin Jurgens and wife, Kerry; grandson, Seth Murray; as well as a host of great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Tad can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Louisiana Chapter or the Ouachita Parish Animal Shelter (OPAS).
