A graveside service for Mr. Edward P. Willey, Jr., 81, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, with Pastor Robert Lawson officiating, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd., Monroe. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until 10:15 A.M. on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd.
Mr. Willey was born on June 26, 1944, in Alexandria, LA, and passed away on September 22, 2025, in Monroe, LA. He was a member of Lea Joyner Memorial Methodist Church in Monroe.
Perry was a fifth-generation drummer in his family. He was a member of the local music groups “The Jumping Jacks” and “The Abstracts” of the late 1950’s. Later in life, he was a member of the group, “Southern Breeze”. He was in John F. Kennedy’s inauguration in 1960 with the Neville High School marching band.
Mr. Willey was preceded in death by his mother, Olli Mae Willey, and father, Edward P. Willey, Sr.
Survivors include his wife, Loretta G. Willey; and three sons, Dennis R. Willey, William Bradford Willey, and James Eric Willey.
