Irene was the compassionate, selfless woman who valued family more than anything in this world.

Elizabeth Irene Wylie Fuller, 84, of Monroe, Louisiana accepted God’s invitation to come home. She peacefully passed away on August 2, 2026 surrounded by family. Born on May 29, 1942 to Grady E. and Ruth Smith Wylie, Irene was the second oldest of their six children. She grew up in Kilbourne, Louisiana in a hardworking farming family, where she learned the value of service, sacrifice, and perseverance from an early age. She helped both in the fields and at home, and those experiences helped shape her into the compassionate, selfless woman who valued family more than anything in this world. Above all else, Irene was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.

After graduating from Kilbourne High School in 1960, Irene moved to Monroe, Louisiana, where she attended Louisiana Business College. While in Monroe, she met the love of her life, James Roy Fuller, Jr. The two were married in 1965 and shared 55 wonderful years together. They were blessed with two children, Jimmy and Becky.

Irene devoted her early years of marriage to raising her family as a dedicated homemaker. As her children grew older, she pursued a career in real estate, earning both her realtor's and broker's licenses and went to work for Carter Realty, Inc. Later, she had a passion for antiques and spent many years collecting, curating, and sharing her treasures through her booth on Antique Alley. In her dedication to serving her community, she was active in many civic organizations throughout her life but was most devoted to the Rotary Club.

Irene was preceded in death by her husband, James Roy Fuller, Jr.; her parents, Grady E. and Ruth Smith Wylie; brother, Thomas E. Wylie; sisters, Winnie Ruth Miller and Barbara Jean Farris; sister-in-law, Sharon Wylie; and brothers-in-law, Tommy Farris and Richard Najolia.

Survivors include her son, James Roy Fuller III and his wife, Sharon; daughter, Rebecca Elizabeth Fuller-Verbois and husband, Jeff; granddaughter, Rebekah Jordan Fuller; sister, Jo Ann Wylie McGee and her husband, Robert; brother, Johnny Lee Wylie; sister-in-law, Judith Nell Fuller Najolia; and many nieces and nephews that held a very special place in her heart.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, August 7, 2026 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, McMillian Road, West Monroe with Brother Clyde Walker officiating. Graveside Services will follow at 2:00 P.M. at Hamilton Cemetery, 126 Hamilton Cemetery Road in Dubach, LA.
