Funeral services for Elizabeth Jane “Janie” Lipscomb will be held at 11:00am on Monday, February 6, 2023 at Mulhearn Funeral Home Chapel, Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA with Reverends Warren Eckhardt and Bryan Lipscomb officiating. Visitation will be from 9am until service time. Interment will follow in Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe, LA under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Monroe, LA.

Janie, 85, of Brandon, MS was born March 21, 1937 in Monroe, LA and died January 30, 2023. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, aunt, mother and grandmother who loved her family and friends with everything she had. She was a member of North Monroe Baptist Church and loved helping with snacks for VBS.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Duke and Ruby McGough, husband Thomas Graves Lipscomb, daughters, Deborah Ann Lipscomb and Susan Lipscomb Herrington, sisters; Rita McGough, Pat Hutson (Johnny), brothers: James “Jimmy” McGough, Monte McGough (Jessie), Charles McGough (Betty), Donald McGough (Julia), brothers-in-law: Hartwell Barnes, Frank (Nell), Edwin, and James "Barney" (Dixie) Lipscomb, Lynfield Snyder, sister-in-law, Rose (Bill) Lucas.

She is survived by her sons and their spouses: James “Jr.” and Dianne Lipscomb of Brandon, MS, Edwin “Bubba” and Cindy Lipscomb of Lufkin, TX, Bryan and Regina Lipscomb of Lufkin, TX, daughters: Sharon Moore and husband Richard, and Stephanie Lipscomb of Monroe, LA, grandchildren:  Daniel Lipscomb (April), Charlie Lipscomb, Jeffery Lipscomb (Frances), and Jacob Lipscomb, Elizabeth Freeman (Matthew), Kevin Richardson, Dawn Baker (Douglas), Christy Bedrich (Ronnie), Brad Lipscomb (Rachael), Adam Moore, Andrew Moore, Savannah Lipscomb, Breanna Lipscomb, Matthew Lipscomb, and Brooklynn Williams; sisters: Carol Collins (David), and Betty Sue Barnes, brother, Frank McGough (Carolyn), brother-in-law, David Deland, sisters-in-law, Effie McGough and Betty Ann Snyder: 13 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Daniel Lipscomb, Jeffery Lipscomb, Charlie Lipscomb, Brad Lipscomb, Jacob Lipscomb, Adam Moore, Andrew Moore, and Kevin Richardson.

Special thanks to Stephanie, Jr. and Dianne Lipscomb for their wonderful care of mom for the last several years. Also, to Holly, Dr. Dubarb Johnson, Heather, Monchel, The Staff of Mississippi Home Health and Merit Health Hospital.
