Evryn Khaza Ellis

Visitation for Evryn Khaza Ellis, 10 months, of West Monroe, LA, will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.

Baby EK was born on June 22, 2022, to Andrew and Kaylee Ellis and passed away May 14, 2023, at Ochsner Children’s Hospital in New Orleans.

 
From the beginning, baby EK was a fighter. EK was diagnosed with Trisomy 21 and several heart complications. He spent the first 96 days here on earth in the hospital. During that time, he had two heart surgeries. 

EK made his journey home to Monroe on September 27, 2022.  He grew bigger and stronger and developed the most precious personality. He changed so many lives.  He loved snuggling with his Momma and Daddy, sticking out his tongue, being dressed in the most stylish outfits by his Momma, and watching Hey Bear!

On May 2, 2023, EK had what was hoped to be his last open-heart surgery.  Unfortunately, due to complications, Baby EK gained his wings shortly after. Every person who has met him can tell you the impact this tiny warrior made on their life. 

Left to cherish his memory are his Mother, Kaylee Ellis; Father, Andrew Ellis; big sister, Ellery Welch; his great-great grandmother, his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and multiple cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations are made to Down Syndrome Diagnosis Network.
