Funeral services for Mr. Floyd Crawley, 74, of Monroe, Louisiana, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at New Light Baptist Church in Monroe, LA, with Rev. Lindle Stewart officiating, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd., Monroe. Interment will follow at New Light Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the church.
Mr. Crawley was born on October 6, 1950, in Rayville, LA, and passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 11, 2025. He was retired from U.S. Pipeline and was a member of New Light Baptist Church.
Floyd had a full life. He worked over 50 years on the pipeline where he traveled around the country and made many friends that he was close to for the rest of his life. He enjoyed the years when he was able to ride his Harley with his friends.
The joy of his life was his family. His greatest blessing was his wife, Brenda. She completed him and exemplified true love. His grandchildren were the twinkle in his eyes. All of them could make him smile and laugh. His children filled his life with purpose. His monthly dinner with his high school buddies was a highlight he always looked forward to.
Floyd was preceded in death by his father, Andrew G. Crawley; mother, Dorothy Dew; and sister, Tilly Edwards.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Stanley Crawley; children, Ashley Stark, Kelly Haire, Phillip Crawley (Jamie), Zack Crawley, Shane Green (Sunny), Holly Green and Crystal Green; grandchildren, Nick Stark, Elaine Stark, Jake Pyles, Lana Pyles, Ava Crawley, Mia Crawley, Bree Crawley, Shaila Green, and Conner Whatley; brother, Johnny Crawley (Michelle); as well as numerous great grandkids, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Crawley, Zack Crawley, Charlie Crawley, Bobby Stanley, John Stanley, Justin Hodge, Shane Green, and Zack Stanley.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Silk, John David Nix, Benny Love, Mark Barton, Howard Middleton, Jackie Jones, Billy Powell, Mike McNaughton, and Royce Copeland.
Brenda would like to thank all of the wonderful medical staff at the dialysis center who made his treatments bearable and effective, and treated him with such kindness, even when they kept waking him up. The family wants to thank Matilda Stephens, NP, for the care he received; Dr. Anyiwo for her skills and kindness in the hospital; the nurses on the 6th floor, Anna, Angel, Jodi and Cynthia; and finally, to Dr. Nidhi Batra, who was a champion for him when there were complications that she was able to successfully treat. Dr. Batra has a special place in our hearts.
Floyd’s faith was definitely a tribute to God. He never faltered in his beliefs and enjoyed telling others. His faith is an example and guideline for anyone that is facing challenges that others may give up on. He never gave up, knowing God was with him and would be a constant for him and his family.
We will miss him, but we know that he has touched each of us in a way that God would be proud of. We love you!
