Frances Lolita "Lo" Perez Hodgkins

Funeral services for Mrs. Frances Lolita “Lo” Perez Hodgkins, 93, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 27, 2023, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd., Monroe, LA, with Rev. Warren Eckhardt and Steve Fowler officiating. Interment will be at 2:30 P.M. in Kilbourne Cemetery in Oak, Grove, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hodgkins was born August 27, 1929, in New Orleans, LA, and passed away January 22, 2023, in Monroe, LA.

Lo was born and raised in New Orleans. She attended LSU where she met Gene Hodgkins, a WW2 veteran from Kilbourne, Louisiana. They were married for 64 years, until Gene’s death, and reunited this week in the presence of the Lord. Together, they raised a family of 3 children, 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and made many friends while living throughout Louisiana. Lo enjoyed her family, friends, and church where she had been an active member of Sunday School, WMU and a GA’s leader. She was also an active 4-H leader for many years. As disciples of Jesus, they served by traveling and living around the world, from Liberia to Croatia and places in between, bringing His Word to many.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Gene Hodgkins; son, Mark Hodgkins; mother, Ethel Vining Perez; father, Leo Perez, Sr.; brothers: Leo, Jr., Earl and John Perez; and sister, Elaine Mock.

Survivors include her daughter, Elaine Bradford and husband David; son, Skeet Hodgkins and wife Judy; eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Bradford, Adam Bradford, Ryan Hodgkins, Lester Ayerdis, Bob Elliott, Justin Olinde, Brad Hodgkins, and Matt Hodgkins.
