Francis Amaro Prothro

Memorial Services for Francis Amaro Prothro, 72, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, February 16, 2024, at The Father’s House Worship Center in West Monroe, LA, with Brother Mike McNeese officiating. 

Francis was born in Waco, TX, June 16, 1952, to Margarita and Joe Amaro and passed away January 26, 2024.

Francis was the youngest of 3 children. She spent her childhood in Robinson, TX. Francis very seldom met a stranger and always had a smile on her face. She absolutely adored people. She also had a special place in her heart for all animals, especially her beloved dogs, Socksy, Shep, and her cat, Thomas. 

Francis was a long-time member of The Fathers House Worship Center. She has a passion for worshipping her Lord and Savior. On August 1, 1998, she married the love of her life, John Gary Prothro. After that day, you rarely saw one without the other. They were truly inseparable and cherished every moment they had together. They lived happily, caring for each other for 26 wonderful years. Francis had an extraordinary memory, once she was told about someone’s birthday, she never forgot it, always being the first to wish them a very Happy Birthday. She is going to be deeply missed by all that knew and loved her. 

Francis was preceded in death by her mother, Margarite Amaro; her father, Joe Amaro; brother, Johnny Amaro; and her sister, Janie Amaro. 

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 26 years, John Gary Prothro; a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews; and many special friends that she dearly loved.
