Graveside services celebrating the life of Freddie “Fred” Gerald Baisden, 78, of West Monroe, Louisiana, will be held at 12:00 P.M., Friday, June 28, 2024, at Coax Cemetery in Baskin, Louisiana with Rev. Nathan Thompson officiating. The visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., Friday, June 28, 2024, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
Freddie “Fred” Gerald Baisden, 78, of West Monroe, Louisiana was born on January 25, 1946, in Boone County, West Virginia and passed peacefully to his heavenly home on Monday, June 24, 2024, surrounded by his family. Fred was a loving husband, daddy, papaw, and friend to many. He enjoyed sitting in his recliner with his beloved dog, Chloe, watching westerns. You could always find him with a cup of McDonalds coffee in the mornings. He worked as a service writer at House of Cycles in West Monroe, La. His job was more than just a job to him, he loved work and all of the amazing people he worked with. One of his favorite hobbies was playing bingo with his wife and daughters. He always had a joke to tell, and you were guaranteed a good laugh if you were around him.
Fred was survived by his loving wife, Linda; daughters, Vicky Dunn of Monroe, La, Mary Sledge (Daniel) of Marion, La, Cathy Breland (Greg, “Pele”) of West Monroe, La, Selena Johnson (Daniel) of Cushing, Ok. And Wendi Sandefur (Marcus) of Midland, Tx; sons, Robert Nettles of Abilene, Tx and Brad Blazier of Tennessee; along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a special sister-in-law, Carolyn “Nubby” Thornton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Mary Baisden; brothers, Dennis “Slim” Baisden, Darrell Baisden, Larry Baisden, Billy Joe Baisden, and Jim Baisden; sisters, Anna Jean Hill, Joyce Rich, and Virginia Kathleen Brown; grandson, Daniel Johnstone III; and niece, Joey Hedgepeth.
The pallbearers will be his son, Brad Blazier; grandsons, Caleb Sellers, Ryan Breland, Devyn Nettles, Montanna Hernandez, TJ Johnson, Cameron Bishop; and his good friend and coworker, Steve McKeithen.
