Funeral service for Mr. Freddy C. Oliveaux, 83, of Monroe, LA will be held at 11:00AM Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at Memorial Baptist Church in Monroe with Rev. Roger Stoffer officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe. Visitation will be from 6:00PM until 8:00PM Monday, September 27, 2021, at Memorial Baptist Church in Monroe. Since Freddy loved to play music, during the visitation, there will be live music played by his band members and friends.
Freddy was a descendent of Pierre Oliveaux who was one of the first migrants from France to settle in the area that is now known as Ouachita Parish. He established a trading post that was later seized by the government where Fort Miro was constructed. Freddy was a generational descendant of northeast Louisiana, he loved his life, family, and friends. He loved to garden and was especially proud of his tomatoes. He was passionate about playing music and loved his guitar. He is now rejoicing in heaven with his two grandsons, making music.
Mr. Oliveaux was born on July 23, 1938, in Alto, LA and passed away on September 24, 2021, in Monroe. He was preceded in death by his parents Amos and Ella Oliveaux, his two grandsons Ryan Oliveaux and Carter Cash.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Norma Jean Oliveaux, children; Fred “Bubba” Oliveaux Jr., Susan Tidwell, and Carol Hargrove; grandchildren, Terri Southwell and husband Zack, Jessica Pittman and husband Matt, Jacob Oliveaux, Joshua Oliveaux, Caleb Oliveaux, Brandy Brinson, Brittany Brinson, Ben Tidwell and wife Morgan, and Katie Wilson and husband Jacob; and nine great grandchildren. Special friends and care givers Bud Teston and Cindy Jones.
Pallbearers will be Butch Wood, Nathan Rice, Phillip Beach, Mark Oliveaux, Bradley LaMartiniere, Gary Oliveaux, and Lucky Cash.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Oliveaux and Carter Cash.
Memorial may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
