Graveside services for Gary Alan Hummel, 76 of Downsville, LA., will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, June 6, 2025 at St. Paschals Catholic Cemetery in West Monroe, LA.

Gary was born on October 12, 1948 in Monroe, LA., and died on June 2, 2025 in Downsville, LA. Gary was a great husband, father, brother and friend. He was a VFW in the United States Army (Vietnam 1970-1972). He lived exactly how he wanted. He loved hunting, fishing, Elvis Presley, bird watching, watching sports, and tending to his garden.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, John Alexander Hummel, Jr. and Marie Louise Dours Hummel; sisters, Beverly Hooper and Nancy Odaware; brothers, John (Jack) Hummel III and Donald Hummel; and nephews, John (Johnny) Hummel IV and Eric Hummel.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Joyce Alleman Hummel; son, Wesley Alan Hummel; daughter, Jill Hummel Staugaard and husband, Andrew; grandchildren, Christian and Axel Staugaard, Aaron Lenard, Kaitlyn and Alan Hummel; stepdaughter, Sheron Lenard and husband Charlie Lenard; brothers, Wayne Hummel and wife, Lottie, Kurt Hummel and wife, Kim and Dr. Glenn Hummel and wife, Lisa; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
