Obituary

Memorial services celebrating the life of George Franklin “Frank” Horrell, 80, of Monroe, Louisiana, will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 20, 2026, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, with Rev. Cody Albritton officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service.

Frank was born on February 20, 1946, in Monroe, Louisiana, and passed peacefully into eternity on June 16, 2026. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend whose life was marked by hard work, dedication, and a deep love for his family.

For many years, Frank worked as a skilled craftsman, building cabinets, signs, and paneling with pride and precision. His strong work ethic and attention to detail were evident in everything he created. He also faithfully served his community as a former Alderman for the Town of Chatham, always willing to lend a helping hand and contribute to the place he called home.

Frank had a passion for golf and enjoyed spending time on the course with friends and family. More than anything, he treasured the moments shared with those he loved. Whether offering advice, telling stories, or simply enjoying time together, he leaves behind countless memories that will be cherished for generations.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Gertrude Horrell.

Left to honor and cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 50 years, Beverly Elaine Horrell; his children, Frankie Horrell Wale and husband Don, Chip Horrell and Lisa, Danny Horrell and wife Jennifer, and Christopher Horrell and wife Erin; his grandchildren, Patrick, David, Garrett, Wes, James, Kaitlyn, Addison, Madison, and Gavin; six great-grandchildren; his brother, Richard Horrell and wife Rita; along with numerous extended family members and dear friends.

Frank’s legacy of hard work, perseverance, craftsmanship, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Though he will be missed, his family finds comfort in the memories they shared and in knowing that his life was a blessing to so many.

His family finds comfort knowing he’ll spend his eternity with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and that he’s been reunited with his Mother and Father in Heaven.
