Funeral services for George Sanders Noel, 79, of Monroe, LA will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. David J. Willis officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Noel was born October 2, 1931 in Jackson, MS. and passed away March 27, 2011. He retired from Bell South in 1987 with 36 years of service. One of his greatest joys was his grandchildren.
Mr. Noel was preceded in death by his parents; David J. Noel, Sr. and Ardell Noel and four sisters.
Survived by his wife Dixie Bennett Noel of 51 years, son; Mike Noel of Dallas, GA., daughter; Sandy Medaries and husband Philip of Bossier City, La., four grandchildren; Stephanie and Matthew Noel of Dallas, GA, Kaitlyn and Caden Medaries of Bossier City, La., brother; David J. Noel, Jr. of Roseville, Calif., also survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Kyle O’Neal, Colby Petch, David Lehne, James Breaux, Philip Medaries and Jerry Towers.
Honorary Pallbearers will be William “Bill” Hughes, Walter Lindstrom, Jerry Petch and Frank Bennett.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 29, 2011 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Memorials may be made to College Place Baptist Church or St. Jude Hospital
