Georgia "Omega" Ford Grant

Funeral service for Ms. Georgia “Omega” Ford Grant, 77, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 10: A.M. Thursday, June 19, 2025, at Loch Arbor Baptist Church, Monroe with Rev. Andy Myrick and Rev. Mickey Bounds officiating, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe. Interment will follow at Loch Arbor Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe.

Georgia Omega (Ford) Grant, age 77, of Monroe, Louisiana, passed away on June 16, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. She was raised by her aunt and uncle, Bernice and Dewey Ford, whom she lovingly referred to as her Mom and Dad.

Omega was a graduate of Jena High School and pursued further studies at a business college. She was a dedicated member of Eastern Star, actively served on the PTA at Robinson Elementary for many years and was involved in the Salvation Army Home League. She faithfully attended Bible Study at Highland Park Baptist Church.

Omega was preceded in death by her parents, William and Jessamine Ford;

her aunt and uncle, Bernice and Dewey Ford; her daughter Melinda Delane Grant; her siblings, Charles Ford, Leland Ford, and Katheryn Ryan; and her brother-in-law, Elzie Woods.

Affectionately known as “Maggie” or “Mama Maggie,” Omega will be remembered for her generous spirit and creativity. She enjoyed creating plastic canvas art, reading, playing Bingo & Pokeno and watching football — especially her beloved LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints.

Omega is survived by her daughter, Belinda Daniels and husband George; her son, Mitchel Lawrence Grant and wife Jennifer; twin sister, Oneida Woods; her grandchildren, Mitchel Lawrence Grant, Jr., Audri Ann Murphy, Melinda Anne Daniels, Emmitt Grant, and Owen Parker Grant; one great-grandchild, Liam Casas; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
