Gerald Glen Arrant, 92 of West Monroe, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at home on May 16, 2026.
Born on August 20, 1933, Mr. Arrant lived a life defined by patriotism, integrity, and quiet generosity. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Haven (AH-12) during the Korean War and carried that spirit of service and honor throughout his life. A military funeral will be held in recognition of his faithful service to his country.
Following his military service, Mr. Arrant built a respected career as the owner of Arrant Insurance Agency, where he was known not only for his business acumen, but also for the relationships and trust he cultivated over many decades. He also owned and managed rental properties throughout the community, becoming a trusted landlord and friend to many over the years.
A devoted supporter of University of Louisiana at Monroe, Mr. Arrant believed deeply in the value of education and took great pride in supporting the university and its students with scholarships throughout the years.
Mr. Arrant is survived by his beloved wife, Anne Harrell Arrant; his brother, Jerry Arrant of Dallas, Texas; and his devoted family and friends whose steady guidance shaped their lives in countless ways.
He will be remembered for his wisdom, generosity, quiet strength, unwavering loyalty to those he loved and his passion for antique automobiles, especially Volkswagen Beetles.
A military graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at 2:00pm at the pavilion in Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe, Louisiana with Rev. Warren Eckhart officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Wayne Rutledge, Caleb Rutledge, Tanner Wise, Tucker Wise, Todd Hilburn, and John Traylor.
