Funeral services for Gloria Dean Evans, a retired grocery clerk, will be held at 1:30 P.M. Sunday, December 4, 2016 at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, La. Visitation will begin at noon until time of service. Reverend Mike Mewborn will officiate. Burial will follow in the Lone Cherry Cemetery in Mangham, La under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.
Gloria was born in Mangham, La. November 11, 1942, and she passed away on December 2, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louie Elgin Evans and Mable Inez Smith Evans, her sisters, Linda Gean Evans, Diane Dennison, Lula Bell McCoy, brothers, Louie Evans Jr. (Cotton), W.A. Evans, Leonard Evans, John Wesley Evans, and her grandson Ryan Oliveaux.
Gloria is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Beverly and David Bryan of Downsville, La; son Freddie Oliveaux Jr. and wife Kasey; sister, Lola Mewborn of Swartz, La; brother, J.G. Evans of Columbia, S.C. She is also survived by grandsons David Jr., Joseph, and William Bryan; Jacob, Joshua, and Caleb Oliveaux; granddaughters Betsy Blazier and Avery Bryan; Terri Jo Southwell, Jessica Pittman, and Katie Carrol; as well as great grandchildren Piper Bryan, Alyssa and Evan Blazier, Lizzie and Ryan Southwell, and Kennedy Pittman, and many nieces and nephews; and her very special friend Mr. E. V. Bankston.
Gloria was a retired grocery clerk having spent 20 years with Brookshire’s Grocery in West Monroe. She dearly loved talking to her regular customers and enjoyed watching their children grow, while at the same time sharing achievements of her son and daughter and her own grandchildren. All children were precious in Gloria’s eyes.
Pallbearers are Zack Southwell, John Evans Jr., Paul Evans, Joe Southwell, and John McCoy, and Matt Pittman.
