Funeral Services for Gloria Whitehurst, 78, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 9:00AM Friday, June 17, 2022 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with Rev. James Doughty officiating. Interment will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery, Chatham under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.

Gloria was born on June 4, 1944, in Jonesboro, LA and passed away on June 12, 2022 in West Monroe, LA. In June of 1954, Gloria gave her life to the Lord at the tender age of 10. She was a long-time member of First Monroe Baptist Church. Gloria retired from Bancroft Bag after 31 years as an inspector. She had many hobbies which included playing bingo, traveling, serving food at her church, and listening to country music. Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Carmon Eggerton; and sisters, Madeline Temple, and Mary Eggerton.

Survivors include her son, Reggie Shaw and wife, Kathy; grandchildren, Lauren Patterson, Kimberly Elam and husband, Richard, Leslie Aucoin and husband, Matthew, and Matthew Pardue and wife, Sara; great-grandchildren, Tyler Farrar and wife, Hannah, Mac Pardue, Amelia Aucoin, Brayden Patterson, and Hayden Patterson; great-great granddaughter, Cypress Farrar; sister, Effie Bailey; brother, Douglas “Sonny” Williams; nieces, Gail Hobbs and husband, Larry, Deneen Shrum and husband, Mike; nephews, Johnny McMillian, Doug Williams and wife, Kristi, Jeff Williams and wife Jennifer, Mike Temple and wife, Alice, and Terry Temple.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Pardue, Tyler Farrar, Joe Danna Jody Richardson, Danny Shaddix, and Cecil Lipscomb.

Memorials may be made to First Monroe Baptist Church or the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home.

Visitation will be held from 5:00PM until 7:00PM Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
