Memorial services celebrating the life of Mr. Glynn P. Kiper, 70, of West Monroe, Louisiana, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2026, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday.

Glynn was born on August 12, 1955, in Columbia, Louisiana, and was raised in West Monroe, where he lived life to the fullest, enjoying all that the Sportsman's Paradise had to offer. Over the years, he loved fishing, competitive shooting, deer, duck, quail, and turkey hunting, as well as flyer and helice competitions. He passed away in Monroe, Louisiana, on August 3, 2026.

Glynn graduated from Northeast Louisiana University with a bachelor's degree in Political Science. After exploring several career paths, he became a business owner, founding Kiper Chemicals, and later enjoyed managing land holdings across North Louisiana. He spent many years working alongside his employee, Ross Hobbs, who became a trusted friend and eventually part of the family.

Glynn loved his hobbies, but he also loved his projects. He took great pride in preparing for each dove, duck, and deer season. His latest passion was Cottonland Gun Club, where he offered skeet, trap, sporting clays, and helice. He was the first to bring helice to Louisiana and enjoyed hosting competitions with his wife Mendy several times each year, welcoming shooters from across the country. At one time, Cottonland Gun Club was the largest helice facility in the country.

Of all the roles Glynn held throughout his life, none meant more to him than being Melissa's father. She was the greatest joy of his life and someone he loved beyond measure. Whether she was tagging along to work, riding with him to the farms, spending time at the hunting camp, or simply sharing the everyday moments of life, he treasured every minute they spent together. He took great pride in teaching her to be strong, confident, fiercely independent, and unafraid to lead. They shared the same quick wit, the same sense of humor, and a bond built on unwavering love, laughter, and mutual respect. No matter where life took them or how the conversation ended, he never let her hang up without hearing the words, "I love you, and I'm proud of you." Those words were more than a habit, they were a reflection of the unconditional love and immense pride he carried for his daughter every single day.

Later in life, Glynn met his wife and life partner, Melinda "Mendy" Kiper. Together, they built an extraordinary life filled with memorable adventures and meaningful accomplishments. They were rarely apart, sharing many of the same interests and hobbies. Mendy always made sure Glynn was well fed, delighting him with her cooking to the point that he preferred eating at home over dining out. She supported and encouraged all of his ideas, dreams, and whims while matching his larger-than-life personality every step of the way. Through every adventure and every season of life, Mendy was his steadfast partner, his greatest supporter, and the person who made every day richer simply by being by his side.

Glynn had a gift for making people laugh. His quick wit and unmatched storytelling drew people to him wherever he went. Whether at the hunting camp, the gun club, or gathered with friends,

he always had a crowd entertained with tall tales and far-fetched stories that somehow became even funnier each time he told them. Through his love of the outdoors and his passion for bringing people together, he built countless lifelong friendships with people from all walks of life. He possessed a magnetic personality that made everyone feel like a friend, and those fortunate enough to know him were better for it. Whether you knew him as Glynn, Big Bad Bubba Big Dog, or The King, you knew you could count on him for laughter, friendship, and a good time.

Although Glynn was generous with everyone he met, he had an especially tender heart for his animals. Whether training his hunting dogs or spoiling his lap dogs, he was never without a loyal four-legged companion. Over the years he owned many remarkable dogs, but his most beloved recent companion, Alice, could almost always be found riding shotgun beside him. He leaves behind his faithful pack: Scruffy, Jerri, Holli, Clisti, Whiski, Augi, and twelve granddogs.

Glynn was preceded in death by his parents, James and Millicent Kiper.

He is survived by his wife, Melinda "Mendy" Kiper; his daughter, Melissa Kiper Baldwin and husband, Matt; his stepdaughters, Monica Stover and husband, Justin; Amanda McDanell; and Lauren Hughes; as well as four grandchildren.

Glynn's legacy will live on through the countless memories he created, the friendships he cherished, and the laughter he brought to every room. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
