Obituary

Funeral services celebrating the life of Gregory “Greg” Alston Greene, 67, of West Monroe, Louisiana will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 20, 2026, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe with Rev. John Albright officiating.

The visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.

Greg was born on October 6, 1958 and passed away after a lengthy illness on June 18, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Greg lived his life with a full heart devoted to his family, loyal to his friends, and always ready to lend a helping hand. A beloved husband, father, and grandfather, he was endlessly proud of his children and grandchildren. His face lit up whenever he spoke of them, and nothing brought him more joy than time spent together. Family was his anchor, his purpose, and his greatest blessing.

Greg had a gift for generosity, especially with his time. If something was broken, he was already on his way to fix it. If someone needed help, he showed up without hesitation. He had a quiet, steady way of caring for others not through grand gestures, but through the everyday kindness that made life easier for the people around him.

He loved competition shooting and enjoyed traveling to matches around the area with friends, sharing laughter, camaraderie, and the thrill of friendly rivalry. He also had a deep appreciation for the past, spending countless hours restoring antique radios and fans, bringing old treasures back to life with patience and skill.

He spent most of his time The Wellness Center in West Monroe, where he worked out faithfully and cherished the friendships he built there.

Greg was a proud graduate of Northeast Louisiana University, earning his degree in Radiologic Technology and Nuclear Medicine. He dedicated his career to St. Francis Medical Center, working in both Nuclear and PET imaging. He loved his work, took pride in doing it well, and was known for the kindness he showed his patients. Many remembered him not just for his skill, but for the comfort and reassurance he offered during vulnerable moments.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Jo Helen Greene.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his wife of forty-one years, Julie; son, Daniel Greene and wife, Rachel; daughter, Emily Bradshaw and husband, Hunter; grandchildren, Gracie, Alston James, and soon to be born baby, Abigail Greene; brother, Alan Greene and wife, Shelly; cousin, Sara Sanders; aunt and uncle, Charles and Glenda Fuller; as well as a host of friends and loved ones.

To know Greg was to know steadiness, generosity, and love. He leaves behind a legacy built from the simplest yet most meaningful acts showing up, helping others, loving his family deeply, and living each day with purpose. His presence will be missed beyond measure, but the impact of his life will continue to shine through the people he loved so well.

The family would like to thank Dr. Scott Barron and all the staff at the Oncology Clinic for their compassionate and diligent care, and in most recent days the staff of St. Joseph Hospice Care for providing peace, comfort, and dignified care at a very difficult time for our family.

Memorials in honor of Greg’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of your choosing.
