Funeral Services Celebrating the Life of Mr. Guy William “G.W.” Frantom, Jr., 85, of Calhoun, LA will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, February 27, 2026, in the Feazel Chapel of First West of West Monroe, with Pastor Michael Wood officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 26, 2026 in Feazel Chapel on First West, West Monroe campus.

Guy William Frantom, Jr., forever known as G.W., was the first-born son of Guy William Frantom, Sr. and Claudine Butler Frantom. He was born on November 16, 1940 and went to be with the Lord on February 23, 2026. G.W.’s childhood was spent riding horses, helping out with a few heads of cattle, and hunting with his younger brother, John (“Bubba”). He graduated from Choudrant High School, where he met the love of his life, Annette Kirkham. He then attended Louisiana Tech University while working on the construction crew of I-20, and later began a career with Western Electric, which would later become AT&T. G.W. and Annette got married on July 20, 1962, and went on to build a life with their two children, Stephanie and Kirk. After an early retirement, G.W. opened Frantom’s Hardware in Calhoun, LA, where he poured his heart and soul into giving back to his community for almost 20 years. Little did he know that same building would later become First West of Calhoun, which he attended over the last few years. After selling the store, he went on to drive a school bus for the Ouachita Parish School System with Annette by his side as the bus aid. Being the hardworking man G.W. was, he also worked with Sprint Fiberoptics, where he monitored the line from Shreveport to Vicksburg for the next 20 years.

G.W. 's greatest accomplishment though, was caring for his wife, Annette, during her 8 ½ year battle with cancer. His servant’s heart was evident in the way he lovingly embraced his role of caregiver, cherishing every moment he could be there for her. G.W was a devoted husband for almost 60 years and set a strong foundation of love for the generations to come. After Annette passed away in 2022, G.W. made it his mission to never miss the important moments in the lives of his grandchildren. From football games to birthdays, they could always count on him to be there, quietly supporting and loving them every step of the way. G.W. enjoyed taking road trips across the country with Kirk and his family and enjoyed visits from Isabella where they would solve all of the world’s problems through deep conversations. Some of their favorite memories were spent fishing, cooking, and simply spending time together, where his presence made ordinary moments special. He was selfless in every way and one of the hardest working men we knew. Like a true jack of all trades, he always seemed to have the answers and was never too busy to lend a helping hand. What stood out the most was his quiet strength, his deep love for the Lord, and his unwavering devotion to his family. G.W. led by example through faith, humility, and love, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to guide and inspire his family for generations.

G. W. is preceded in death by his parents, Guy William Sr. and Claudine Frantom; Uncle, I.V. Butler; brother, John Leslie Frantom; wife, Annette Kirkham Frantom; daughter, Stephanie Frantom Payne; and granddaughter, Savannah Noelle Payne.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Kirk Frantom and wife, Misty; son-in-law, Tim Payne; grandchildren, Isabella Payne, Kirsty Frantom, Kyler Frantom, and Kylie Frantom; sister, Karen Frantom Lowery and husband, Mike; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Shelby Ainsworth, Garry Barr, Eddie Bush, Greg Dumas, Ronnie Fretwell, and Milton Melton. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Lowery and Jimmy York.
