Funeral services celebrating the life of Harriett Patricia “Pat” Hays Flanagan, 83, of West Monroe, Louisiana will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, April 23, 2026 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with Bro. Eddie Simmons officiating.
The visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor her remarkable life and bid her a heartfelt farewell.
Pat was born on March 22, 1943, in Monroe, Louisiana, she was the cherished daughter of Harry and Elodie Hays, who instilled in her a love for family and community.
Pat’s early years were spent in West Monroe, where she attended West Monroe High School and was in the graduating Class of 1961. After graduation, she embarked on a career as a bookkeeper and office manager, a role she fulfilled with diligence and grace, reflecting her acute attention to detail and unwavering commitment to excellence. Her quick tongue and sharp wit were her trademark, endearing to friends and colleagues alike.
As a member of Family Church, Pat’s faith was a guiding light throughout her life. Her compassion and generosity were evident in her support of various charitable organizations, including the Wounded Warrior Project, Shriner’s Hospitals, and Mercy Ships.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Elodie Hays; her beloved son, Roger Flanagan; brothers, Harry Hays, Jr. (Cheryl) and James “Jimbo” Hays; nephew, James Russell Hays, Jr.; brother-in-law, Hugh Britt; and her husband, Ray Flanagan.
Those left to honor and cherish Pat’s life are her daughters, Sherrie Aulds (Les) and Debbie McGough (Larry); nine grandchildren, Trisha Flanagan, Ashley Flanagan (Josh), Jessica Hyde, Haley McGough (Devin), Madeline Moghimi, Lawren Wall (Matt), Trey Aulds, Graham Aulds, and Austin Aulds; five great grandchildren; sisters, Martha Guraedy (Richard), Mary Britt, Dorothy Tannehill (Benny), and Cindy McGibboney; sister-in-law, Cindy Hays; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
The pallbearers will be Brandon Hays, Josh Hays, Trey Aulds, Graham Aulds, Brayden Tannehill, and Kevin Hill.
