Helen Francis Hammons Hays

Funeral services for Helen Francis Hammons Hays, 86, of Sterlington, LA, will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, June 24, 2023, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe with Rev. Ricky Matlock officiating. Graveside service will be held 1:30PM Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Fellowship Baptist Church in Dubach, LA. Visitation will be from 9:00AM until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hays was born May 18, 1937, in Dubach, LA, and passed away on June 18, 2023, in Farmerville, LA.  She was a devoted and loving wife and mother to her husband and children. She was the best friend and best sister to her siblings. Mrs. Hays was a member of Sterlington First Baptist Church. She fought a long illness and is in the Lord’s loving arms for eternity. We will miss her dearly, but we are comforted with knowing that she is finally healed and happy forever.

Mrs. Hays was preceded in death by, her husband, Dale Hays; mother, LaDell Hammons; father, Bill Hammons; grandparents, Jack Horton and Daisy Horton; nephews, Jeffry Smith and Randy Hammons, and brother-in-law, Vernon Smith.

Survivors include her children, Ricky Hays (Caron), Terri Matlock (Marvin), Mark Hays (Cindy), Tammy Dyke (Donald); sister, Jeanie Smith; brother, Elvis Hammons (Cathy) ; 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; Numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Daniel King, Ian Ford, Matt Ford, Joshua Hays, Zachary Hays, Chris Stanton, Richard Bowroski, and Bradley Williamson.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Gamage, Elara Hospice and the nursing staff at Arbor Lake Skilled Nursing and Rehab for their loving care of Mrs. Hays.
