Hillery Daniel "H.D." Dozier

Graveside services celebrating the life of Hillery Daniel “H.D.” Dozier, 97, of West Monroe, Louisiana will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, September 29, 2025 at Fellowship Cemetery with Rev. Chad Ballard officiating.

Mr. Dozier was born on May 22, 1928, in Liddieville, Louisiana and went home to be with his Lord and Savior on September 26, 2025.

H.D. was a beloved husband, father, and friend who will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a good Christian man and was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Mr. Dozier loved meeting and talking with new people.

He loved to mow the grass and work on cars. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to go hunting and fishing in his younger years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Lela Dozier; brothers, Julius Dozier and Sandford Dozier; and sisters, Lilly Dozier and Laura Fay Dozier Thornton.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his wife of seventy-two years, Velda Dozier; son, Wendell M. Dozier; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones.
