Obituary

A memorial service celebrating the life of Hubert Lee “Noonie” Crowell, 73, of Calhoun, Louisiana will be held at 3:00 P.M., Sunday, September 13th, 2026, at The Assembly with Bro. Kalvin Flowers officiating.

The visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. until the time of service.

Hubert was born on August 25th, 1953, in West Monroe, Louisiana and went home to be with Jesus on September 9th, 2026, in Monroe, Louisiana.

Noonie was born and raised in West Monroe, Louisiana, and spent most of his life doing what he loved, building, fixing, and creating with his hands. A gifted carpenter, he could repair just about anything, and he carried that same steady reliability into every part of his life.

He proudly served in the United States Army, spending time in South Korea, and later continued serving others through mission trips to the Philippines and Honduras, where his carpentry skills became a blessing to countless people. Noonie was a man of God, humble and genuine, the very definition of “salt of the earth.” He loved people deeply, and people loved him right back. He never met a stranger.

An avid hunter, especially with his bow, Noonie cherished time outdoors. But nothing meant more to him than time with family cooking for everyone, cheering at grandkids’ ball games, celebrating birthdays, and showing up wherever he was needed. Helping others was simply who he was. He will be remembered by his Sunday school friends for his amazing biscuits and gravy that he brought every Sunday morning.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Laura Jean Crowell; brother, Stanley Crowell; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bobby and Pat Audirsch.

Those left to love and cherish his memory are his wife, Tanya Crowell; children, Sara Crowell, Jeremy Crowell, Tiffany McDonald (Mac), Mallory Savant (Caleb), Logan Bernice (Natalie); grandchildren, Destiny Ferrand, Dylan Crowell, Abby Crowell (Devin), Grady Paul Crowell, Mason, Owen, Hayden, Emiline and Sam McDonald, Elam, Beckett and Myles Savant, and Nolan Bernice; special sister-in-law, Terri Smith; brother, Jeff Crowell (Susan); as well as a host of loved ones and friends.

There are no words to express our dear loss of the man who wore many hats including husband, daddy, papaw and friend. Thank you all for your continued prayers and support during this difficult time.
