Graveside services celebrating the life of Ivy Ray Johnson, 96, of West Monroe, Louisiana will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, December 28, 2025, in the pavilion at Hasley Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with Dr. Jim Wolf officiating.
Mr. Johnson was born on November 2, 1929, in Monroe, Louisiana and passed away on December 24, 2025, at his residence in West Monroe, Louisiana.
Ivy Ray was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to all and he will be dearly missed. He was a proud United States Air Force Veteran. Before retirement, Mr. Ivy worked for the Louisiana Power and Light Company for many years then he went on to be a civil service worker for the State of Louisiana. As a loving husband and father, he was always kind, patient, understanding, and always set a good example for those around him especially his grandsons. Above all, he was a devoted Christian man and had a servant’s heart. He served as Deacon Emeritus at Ridge Avenue Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willam Henry and Bettie Mae Johnson; brother, James Edward Johnson; sister-in-law’s, Lucy Johnson and Patricia Ann Bailey; and daughter-in-law, Susan Johnson.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Barbara Johnson; daughter, Sherry Hulsey; sons, Jim Johnson and wife, Ruby and Randy Johnson and wife, Leah; grandsons, Ryan Hulsey and Hunter Johnson.
