Kyle Lowery officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00AM Monday until service time at the funeral home.

Jacquelyn Traweek Lowery, “Jackie,” passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on October 17, 2024. Jackie was born in Alexandria, LA on September 15, 1936, to Buford and Nora (“Big Bit”) Traweek. She was the “apple” of her Daddy’s eye. She attended school in Mangham, LA and graduated from Mangham High School.

Jackie was married to Bobby Ray Lowery for seventy years. Because Bobby was being sent to Korea, they married in May of 1953 at the end of Jackie’s junior year in high school. While Bobby served in the Army in Korea, Jackie waited for her soldier to come home and completed high school in 1954. She had an aptitude for office management which made her skills invaluable at Ryan Chevrolet for twenty years, as well as AMR, Metro Ambulance here in Monroe. While her children attended Ouachita Christian School, Jackie drove a school bus every day in addition to her full-time employment. She was dedicated to supporting her children in school and in their extra-curricular activities.

Jackie and Bobby had four children: Keith Lowery (Tanya), Brian Lowery, Dawn Brazell (Brad), and Craig Lowery (Kristi). She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Kyle Lowery (Morgan), Karla Pierce (Brandon), Jimmy Stutz (Nicole), Cassey Charrier (Spencer), Ashley Lowery Higgins (Jon), Julia Vincent (Drake), Jessica Brazell, Drew Lowery and Landon Lowery. Another twelve great grandchildren called her “Mamaw”: Sadie, Ella, Livvy, Maddi, Joanna, Wesley, Walker, Blair, Lizzie, Ethan, Ryland and Reed.

In addition to this beautiful, large family, Jackie is survived by her sister, Linda Traweek in West Monroe, and her brother, John Traweek in Huntsville, Alabama. She was predeceased by her husband Bobby, her father and stepmother, Buford and Jo Traweek, and her mother, Nora Southall Traweek.

Jackie was strong, independent, resilient, and capable – traits she attributed to “being a Traweek.” Her granddaughter Ashley describes Jackie’s legacy as one of “love and authenticity. . .passion and tenacity.” Her passion was supporting her family members in whatever endeavors they pursued. If they participated in sports or cheerleading, she was in the stands to applaud. She was that lighthouse that never failed to shine a light, illuminating the path toward home and safety and love. We will miss you, Mamaw.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Pierce, Kyle Lowery, Ethan Higgins, Drew Lowery, Land Lowery, Brad Brazell, and Clinton Adams.
