James “Jim” Henry Braden, 81, a resident of West Monroe, Louisiana and previously of Tyler, Texas passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2025. Jim was born July 12, 1943 in Wichita Falls, Texas to George and Nora Braden. He was a graduate of Bolton High School. He was called to duty by the United States Army in 1967, serving in the Vietnam War until 1969. He was proud to be a Veteran.
Jim started his career in various sales roles, ultimately relocating to Tyler, Texas, where he served as the manager of Bill Day Tire Store for over 20 years until his retirement.
One of his many hobbies was taking photographs at various dirt track races until he discovered metal detecting and loved going out to old Civil War fields with his friends.
Jim was so excited when he retired and moved to West Monroe to be closer to his daughter and his grandchildren he adored.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Nora Braden.
Those left to cherish his memory are, his daughter, Amy Smith (Travis) of West Monroe, LA; grandchildren, Joseph & Madi; sister, JoAnn Williams (John) of Harahan, LA; nephews, David Jones (Liz) of Covington, LA and Jonathan Jones of Orlando, FL; and along with numerous great nieces and nephews.
A private family memorial will be held at later date.
