James Owens Buffington

Funeral services for James Owens Buffington, 57 of Monroe, will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at Our Lady of Fatima Church with Rev. Sebastian Kallarackal and Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Road, Monroe. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Buffington died Friday, August 26, 2011, at M. D. Anderson in Houston, Texas. He was born on January 13, 1954 in Bastrop, LA to Mr. and Mrs. James R. Buffington.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Peggy Buffington, daughter, Maggie Sistrunk, son- in- law Thomas Sistrunk, granddaughter Madeline Sistrunk, mother, Alice Buffington and the late Ruben Buffington, mother –in-law, Totsy Williams and the late Harold Williams, brothers, Kenny Buffington and wife Martha, Doug Buffington and wife DeeDee, sisters- in- law, Cherry Evans and Carol Taylor and husband Karl. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, as well as other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Benji Buffington, Whit Buffington, Matthew Rainwater, Jay White, Charles Sawyer, and Ricky Boone.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Sam Correro and Karl Taylor.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday with a vigil at 6:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Road.
