Obituary

Private family services for Jarrod Kyle Colvin, 42, of West Monroe, Louisiana were held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, August 28th, 2026, at Feazel Chapel with Dr, Mark Fenn and Rev. Michael Wood officiating. Interment followed after the service at St. Paschals Catholic Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe.

Jarrod was born on September 29th, 1983, in West Monroe, Louisiana and passed away surrounded by his loving family on August 21st, 2026.

Jarrod lived his life with joy, devotion, and a deep love for the outdoors. Nothing meant more to him than spending time with his two girls, who were always his greatest priority and the center of his world. He found happiness on the water jet skiing with the NELA Ski Riders and peace in nature, especially when he was hunting. A talented athlete, Jarrod was also an avid baseball player who carried his competitive spirit with pride. He was a faithful member of First West Baptist Church, where his kindness and steady presence were felt by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jim and Jane Boyington; and paternal grandparents, Hyter Chris Colvin, Billie Jean Colvin, Alice Faye Payne, and James Howad Payne.

Those left to honor and cherish Jarrod’s memory are his two beloved daughters, Collyns Colvin and Elliott Colvin; mother, Debbie Boyington Takewell and her husband, Ricky; father, Gary Chris Colvin and his wife, Rhonda; brother, Jacob Colvin (Hannah); sister, Jannon Colvin New (Josh); grandparents, Edward and Bonnie Takewell; aunts, Dianne Warren, Donna Hust (Donnie), Rhonda Antee (Terry), Nikki Peoples (Jerry),Cheryl Walters (Keith), and Kathy Watson; uncles, Terry Takewell, Keith Colvin, and Scott Payne; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, loved ones, and friends.

Memorials in honor of Jarrod’s life and legacy may be made to The Cancer Foundation League of Monroe.
