Jeffrey H Hicks

Memorial service for Jeff Hick, 64, of Monroe will be Wednesday, October 28, 2026, in the Chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Rd. Monroe, with Dr. Marty Carroll Officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until Service time at the funeral Home.

Jeff was born December 29,1961 and passed away from this life on October 15,2026. Jeff will be remembered as a Kind, loving friend to all. A storyteller for all occasions and a musician. He was a loving husband to his wife Ellen of 24 years and true friend to all.

Jeff graduated from Tallulah High and then enrolled at NLU. He was part of the NLU Flight Team and Sigma Nu Fraternity.

Jeff was an avid outdoorsman. Enjoyed duck or deer hunting in the Delta, this was his favorite time of year. He was well known for creating delicious dishes and smoked cheeses when the weather turned cool. He loved sharing his gifts with others.

Jeff was happiest when he played music with his friends. This past year, playing music was more like medicine than anything. The fellowship he felt when playing music was unmatched. He encouraged anyone who asked about playing bass or picking up an instrument. He truly had a servant’s heart when it came to helping others.

Jeff was preceded in death by W.J. Hicks(father), Mary Wiggens Hicks(mother),Bill Hicks(brother), and his grandparents.

Jeff is survived by his wife Ellen Silk Hicks, Rusty Hicks (brother), Mike Hicks (brother), Ben Hicks (brother), and numerous chosen Family members.

Please think of Jeff when the weather turns cool and you see a spider lily. That was his favorite flower. That was Mother Nature’s signal that summer was about to loosen her grip and the leaves were going to turn beautiful colors. This always made him smile. 1-4-3....
