Jesse Leroy Hanchey, Jr.

Funeral services for Jesse Leroy Hanchey, Jr., 88, of West Monroe, Louisiana, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, March 11, 2024, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home of West Monroe, with Pastor James Doughty officiating. The interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. The visitation will be held from 12:30 P.M. until the time of service on Monday.

Mr. Hanchey was born on January 3, 1936, in Monroe, Louisiana, and passed away on March 7, 2024, in Bastrop, Louisiana.

Jesse was the owner of Louisiana Parts and Supply Company. He was also a long-time member of the Lion’s Club, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of Red Lick hunting Club of Gibson, Mississippi, Tip Top Hunting Club, and Iron Rock Hunting Club. He killed many deer there and was the only person to ever kill a turkey in that hunting club.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Annette Welch Hanchey; his parents, Jesse Leroy Hanchey, Sr. and Audrey Hamm; and adopted father, Leslie G. Hamm.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Jackie McDougle and her husband, Billy and Jenny Franklin; grandchildren, Ashlee Boyd, Trey McDougle and his wife, Crystal, Austin Franklin, and Addison McDougle and his wife, Natasha; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Boyd, Mackensie Boyd, Kiley McDougle, Carter McDougle, and Wrenley McDougle. He will have another great grandson to come in August named Leroy Robert McDougle.

The pallbearers will be Addison McDougle, Trey McDougle, Austin Franklin, Wesley Graff, Spencer Graff, and Landon Graff.

Memorials may be made to the First Monroe Building Fund.
