Funeral service for Mrs. Jimmie N. Bagby, 83, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 1:00PM Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Swartz First Baptist Church with Rev. Joey Kennedy officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe. Visitation will be from 5:00PM until 7:00PM Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Bagby was born on March 27, 1941, in Oakdale, LA, and passed away on November 29, 2024, in Monroe. She was affectionately known as Ginny. She graduated high school at Glenmora, then married Robert Chevalier. She became a homemaker and raised 2 children.
She completed Beauty School in Baton Rouge, LA. She continued her education with a computer and data entry certification in Monroe, LA where she was employed by the City of Monroe. She married Billy W. Bagby on Nov. 8th,1980. She transferred to LA Gas for a few years, then joined Century Telephone – where she worked 20 more years until she retired in 2004. She faithfully served in the Eastern Star and treasured playing cards for hours at the Ouachita Senior Center. She loved attending the VFW where she enjoyed music and danced. She never met a stranger. She loved family, people, travel, shopping, music and going to the beach.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Cornelia Bienvenue; father, Louis Willis; step-father, Devance Bienvenue; brother, Glen Ferral Willis; step-son, Dwayne Bagby; step-daughter, Tina Jones.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Wayne Bagby; sister, Joy Sellers; son, Steven Chevalier; daughter, Carolyn Hagan; step-son Carlus Bagby; nieces, Rima Duhon and Susan Seller; nephew, Robert Seller; grand-daughters, Jennifer Walters Molosso, Stacy Bagby Yeldell, Katrina Bagby Kennedy, Kami Bagby and Shelby Jones; grandsons, Joseph Walters, Ollie Bagby and Daniel Jones; as well as numerous great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be: Joseph Walters, Tristen Gooden, Robert Sellers, Christopher Sellers, Hank Adams, Colton Yeldell
Special thanks to all family members and friends for love, prayers, visits, flowers, cards and calls.
