Obituary

Graveside services celebrating the life of Jimmy Ramsey, 93, of West Monroe, Louisiana will be held at 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Hasley Memorial Pavillion with Rev. Ricky Baker officiating, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, Louisiana.

Jimmy Ramsey was born on October 20, 1932 and passed away on Sunday, November 16th leaving behind a legacy of service, dedication, and love that will be cherished for generations. A proud patriot, Jimmy devoted more than forty years of his life to the National Guard, serving his country with honor and unwavering commitment. He retired from Manville Forest Products with thirty years of service and Poly Processing with thirty years of dedicated service. His strong work ethic, loyalty, and willingness to help others earned him the respect of all who knew him. Jimmy was also known for his passion as a ham radio operator, a hobby he enjoyed for many years. Through it, he formed lasting friendships and shared countless conversations across the airwaves. 

One of the greatest joys of Jimmy’s life was the love he shared with his devoted wife, Geraldine “Jerri” Ramsey. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, strength, and steadfast devotion. Their bond was evident in all they did, and those who knew them remember their relationship as one rooted deeply in love. Jimmy carried her memory with him always. 

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Geraldine “Jerri” Ramsey; mother, Lessie Mael, and his father, Pete Ramsey.

Those left to honor, cherish, and carry on his legacy are his son, Kenneth Ramsey and wife, Stella; daughter, Pam Kitchens and husband, Chris; grandchildren, Greg Ramsey and wife, Nicole, Chris Ramsey, Jeff McManus and Dianna, Ashley Payne and husband, Seth, and Allison Stapleton and husband, Jarrett; great-grandchildren, Braelynn Ramsey, Austin Ramsey, Caleb Ramsey, Lane McManus, Reese McManus, Riley McManus, Emma Adams, Addalyn Adams, Tanner Kitchens, Isaiah Kitchens, and Clayton Stapleton; sisters, Patsy Perkins, Sharon Prestwood and husband, Mike; and a host of nieces, nephews, loved ones, and friends who adored him.
