Funeral services for Mrs. Joan E. Johnson, 78, of Downsville, LA, will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Saturday, April 18, 2026, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe with Rev. Randy Ray officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:30 P.M. until service time at the funeral home.

Joan was born on January 2, 1948, in Kingsport, TN, and passed away on April 11, 2026, in Monroe. Joan enjoyed the simple things in life like mowing the grass on the riding lawn mower and going dancing with her husband. She worked at the regional office in Monroe for State Farm.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel N. Ryan and Lena Beth Smith Ryan; sister, Jeanella Fields; and sister-in-law, Nancy Ryan.

Survivors include her husband, Michael (Mike) Johnson; stepson, Greg Johnson; brothers, Darrell Ryan and Larry Ryan and his wife Pris; numerous nieces, nephews, and special cousin, Dewey Ryan and wife Linda.
