Joe Allen Cummings, Jr.

Funeral services for Joe Allen Cummings, Jr., 69, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 21, 2023, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, with Debbie Cummings and Ann O’Neal officiating. Interment will follow at Kilpatrick’s Serenity Gardens, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home. The visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Monday, November 20, 2023, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, 300 McMillan Rd. West Monroe, Louisiana.

Mr. Joe Allen Cummings, Jr. was born on December 15, 1953, in Houston, Texas, and passed away on November 17, 2023, in West Monroe, Louisiana. Joe loved to go deer hunting, watch western movies, sing, play guitar, and watch the Nascar races. He was an avid sports fan and loved to cheer on his favorite teams, the New Orleans Saints, the LSU Tigers, and the Houston Astros. He mentored many different tradesmen throughout his years as a construction superintendent. He had a big heart and adored his family, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and will be dearly missed by all.

Mr. Cummings was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Allen Cummings, Sr. and Arlene Cummings; sister, Mary DeForrest; niece, Becky DeForrest; and by numerous aunts and uncles.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Elsie Gelene Cummings; sons, Joe Allen Cummings III and his wife, Heather, John Allen Cummings and his wife, Heather,  Blake Leoperd, and Shaun Wilkinson; daughters, Jennifer Cummings Wilkinson and Tiffany Cummings Edmonson and her husband, Joshua; grandchildren, Austin Cummings and his wife, Hanna, Kylie Belle Wilkinson, JT Edmonson and his wife, Victoria, Joesph “DoodleBug” Edmonson, Peyton “Monkey” Wilkinson, and Caleb Hovis; great grandchildren, Bella Grace Cummings, Hayes Parker Cummings, Waylon Lee Edmonson; sisters, Debbie Cummings and Wanda Pierce.

The pallbearers will be Trae Banks, Ethan “Jughead” Flint, Anthony “Toe” Williamson, Bobby Bonsell, Daniel Glass, Joesph Edmonton, Rusty Flint, Shaun Wilkinson, and Peyton Wilkinson.
