Funeral services for Joe Lamar Hodge, 75, of Sterlington, LA, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe with Brother Jeff Hurst officiating directly following visitation at 10:00 A.M.

Joe was born on July 2, 1950, in Bastrop, LA, and passed away surrounded by family on January 30, 2026.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Lon “Boots” Hodge and Ola Mae Hodge.

Survivors include his wife, Gale Rankin Hodge; children, Heather Chavez (Monte), Justin Hodge (Lauren) and Whitney Hodge (Brian); grandchildren, Madison Stovall, Gabriela Chavez, Emersyn Hodge, Mia Jo Chavez, Briar Rose Mathis and Jett Hodge; siblings, Melda Brantley (Lanny), Kathy Matte (Bruce), Becky Hodge and Reta Womble (Buddy); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joe was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa, uncle, son, brother and friend. It would be hard to find someone in the Sterlington area that didn’t know him, as many affectionately referred to him as “Good Ole Joe”. He owned Sterlington Auto Parts then managed Bumper to Bumper in Farmerville until his retirement. He leaves behind so many people that loved him dearly for his kindness and witty personality. Heaven gained an amazing angel, and we are so blessed to know that one day we will see him again in a better place.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Paron Baptist Church in Sterlington, LA.
